Reusing essays

Post by teampeeta » Mon Nov 18, 2013 12:45 pm

Hey all,

A friend asked me a question about applying and I thought I'd post it here:

Has anyone reapplied to law school and not redone their PS? FWIW, my friend got into a bunch of top 10 schools when he applied a few years ago and just decided to do a consulting gig instead.

He was happy with his PS from before and doesn't really see a need to change it, especially because schools generally don't keep old applications on file for more than a year (HYS are exceptions to this rule).

Is this a terrible plan or is it what most people do? Coming up with new essays seems like a huge pain.

At the very least, he should rewrite some of it to change it up.
