You can't update your ps. Asking will make you look stupid. It sucks, but that's life. I doubt it will hurt much, if at all.

I'm not sure where this is coming from. I've seen several people say on these boards that they were able to update a PS to correct a typo.Cicero76 wrote:You can't update your ps. Asking will make you look stupid. It sucks, but that's life. I doubt it will hurt much, if at all.
Whether it looks good or bad is hard to say. Most of the time, the person you get in touch with about updating it won't be someone who's actually involved in reviewing applications. So it all comes down to whether they keep the old one in the file.
I'm not sure what else to tell you about how to weigh the risks.

I meant you can't do it without drawing attention to it. Either way, it's not likely to matter unless OP applied to Yale, since apparently the typo is subtle enough he didn't catch it in three edits or whatever.

Re: Ugh. PS typo.
I had a small typo in my PS and didn't make any effort to correct it. All I know is that out of the 4 schools who received it and have since responded, I'm 4/4.

I can't imagine a single typo would keep you out of a school you would have otherwise gotten into.
