Number of Rec Letters

Postby jasonredranger » Wed Oct 09, 2013 7:12 pm

If schools - in this case Michigan and Berkeley - "recommend" a certain number of recommendation letters (let's say 2/3), but only require 1, how important are the extra letters to admission? As it stands I'm waiting on my 2nd letter, but I'm anxious to turn in applications ASAP. Should I just submit now?

Do you have an ETA on the next letter?

I went through the same thing, but I already had two and was waiting on the third. I'd continue to follow up with your recommender - at least for another week or two. My goal was to submit before October LSATs come out. Also it obviously depends on how long you've been waiting.
