This thread might as well be for you:

All the same advice applies. There is no law school in this country worth attending that would accept a 153.

I went to George Mason University for undergrad.
GPA- 3.91 (graduating summa cum laude)
Major: Criminology, Law and Society
Multiple Leadership positions
GREAT resume. Worked at a law firm for a year, great rec letters, etc.

Only down side: LSAT 149.

I am retaking the LSAT this Oct 5, but I do not think I will do better than 153.

I want to apply early decision to Mason Law. What do you think my chances are? I have EVERYTHING going for me minus the LSAT. Please let me know.

I think you would be wasting your GPA and all your accomplishments going to a school like George Mason for law school. You're clearly a hard worker and reasonably intelligent; you should study correctly and reapply to schools with a score that is 165 or higher and enjoy the T20.

That LSAT is more than a downside. Retake for mid 160s or don't go.

It'd be a shame to waste that GPA you have. Retake for at least 165. If you don't feel you can get your score up to that level by this week, then delay your test until you've had more thorough preparations.

Also, talk to some George Mason 3Ls about what kind of jobs they have set up for when they graduate. You'll quickly realize that almost none of them have jobs. Your LSAT score is the single most important part of law school admissions and with your GPA, even a score in the low 160s will get you into some solid law schools. Don't throw that chance away on paying stick at a school that gives you a less than 20% chance of paying back your student loans.

DO NOT retake in Oct. CANCEL NOW.

You have a YSH GPA and a TTTT LSAT score.

You need to wait until you are able to achieve a respectable LSAT score.

Attending law school with an LSAT score that low would probably be the biggest mistake of your life.

This, absolutely this. You can bring yourself up to a 165+ and attend a solid school, and if you can't, then you shouldn't be going to law school at all. I think you can.

If you don't have the LSAT going for you, then you have nothing going for you.

Get your LSAT to over 165; don't apply until then.

Last year, I took the lsat with barely any study and got a 160. I didn't know how important the test is and did very little research. Luckily, after the test, I found TLS and realized I needed a better score. In many ways it has sucked, but I took a full year off and have been prepping for October. I've been PTing in the 170s, and hope to hit at least high 160s. It's a decision that could literally save me tens of thousands of dollars.

Retake.

why is everyone here saying at least 165?

shouldn't OP get at least a 167?

We're trying to be realistic. 160 is pretty attainable for most people if they study long enough and employ the right study habits and with OP's GPA, it's safe to assume that low 160s, or even 164/165 is attainable which would probably get a bite from at least one of Penn, UVA, Berk, NU, and GULC. Telling OP to get high 160's might make the thing "OMG I might not be able to do that" and then they'll just never try.
