Letter of Recommendation Format? Forum

Hi TLS, I have a quick and silly question. Is there a certain way to format letters of recommendation?

My boss is writing one and asked how it should be formatted. Right now, he has written it like a typical letter he would send out. It has the law firm's letterhead and is addressed to the LSAC. The subject line is my name, and it begins "Dear LSAC." I have no idea what these are supposed to be like, but my guess is it should have the standard "To whom it may concern" line rather than "Dear LSAC"? Or what is protocol here? Also, should he remove the LSAC's address and just leave the typical address area blank, since this is going to multiple schools?

Tell them to go with "To whom..." or "Dear Admissions Officer." Letterhead is good, and none of the other stuff matters.

Do NOT write "Dear LSAC": you are not addressing LSAC, but the admissions committee.

Yeah, either "to whom it may concern" or "Dear Admissions Officer / Dear Admissions Committee" should be fine.
