Re: Toby Stock call
Just had it. 5.5 mins, he didn't ask me if I had any questions and I was a stuttering fool.

Re: Toby Stock call
Should I be concerned that he didn't ask me if I had any questions for him? Or do you think it's just attributable to time contraints? (Though my call wasn't even 6 minutes long)

Topanga: That's exactly what I was worried about after my call: the fact that he didn't ask me any questions and that it was under six minutes. Turns out to not have been a big deal. Congrats on finishing it to you too underdawg!

Re: Toby Stock call
Thanks, I hope so. He did seem pretty hurried. He says "very good" a lot. He plays tennis!

Congrats you all. From what I can tell, TS2s have a tendency to come early in the week after TS1s. Wait patiently.

Re: Toby Stock call
Just had my TS1. It went okay, I think, although I'm now constantly thinking of all the intelligent, witty things I could have said but didn't. He said "very good" a lot, and asked a couple follow-up questions. About 7 minutes total, but he didn't ask if I had any questions. Apparently my app hasn't gone to the committee yet. It seems like he just picks applications that interest him and then attaches his phone conversation comments to the file before passing it on. Best of luck to everyone else!

Yes, Toby Stock loves to say "very good".

Good luck, everyone!
(And I think he purposefully doesn't ask if you have any questions. He probably doesn't want you to force yourself to ask questions that aren't really necessary. He talks about being annoyed with these types of questions on his blog.)

Re: Toby Stock call
Toby Stock, the Dean of Admissions at Harvard, calls people who are likely to be admitted for a short phone interview. The first call (TS1), is the actual interview, and the second call (TS2) is the acceptance. I believe somewhere in the neighborhood of 80% of TS1 recipients get a TS2, and interviewing with Dean Stock is required for admission.sibarg2 wrote:what is ts1 ts2 ts anything?...

Re: Toby Stock call
I wouldn't worry too much about when you went complete. If you are selected for a call, you will receive an email from Dean Stock asking to set up and interview time. Best of luck!sibarg2 wrote:well my stuff JUST went complete cuz my resume didn't transmit with me app so pray for me and hope I get that call

Re: Toby Stock call
It seems like TS2s have been coming early in the week after your TS1, if that is what you're waiting on. If you're still waiting for your TS1, then he will definitely call the next time you're really busy and in a situation where you shouldn't answer your phone.

Re: Toby Stock call
Don't be nervous, I am going from a very limited sample. Additionally, the timing could easily change as the cycle progresses. That is the problem with this site, we all freak each other out.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
