Taking LSAT for first time in December

Postby nw63 » Wed Aug 28, 2013 2:17 pm

Thankfully the LSAT is done for me but my roommate is strongly considering applying to law school for the following cycle as well. He has near perfect grades and will get excellent recommendations. I consider him to be an incredible candidate. Can someone who is likely to have a very strong application take the LSAT for the first time in December for top law schools? Or would he have to take a year off?

He should start studying NOW if he hasn't already. December is fine if he feels ready and is scoring where he wants to on his practice tests. If his official score is lower than he needs, I would advise him to retake and apply following cycle. Even if it's good enough for admission to T14, he may decide to retake for more scholarship money. Lawschool isn't going anywhere.
