The average LSAC score for Puerto Rican test takers is around a 136 (not a joke), but I'm pretty sure that the PR law schools are used similarly to how people use Caribbean medical schools, which is so much more sad than the medical school people's decision since getting into a low-end US law school is really easy.MarkinKansasCity wrote:http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=interamericanjingosaur wrote:Yeah, nothing is coming from the TTTTs. Well holy shit. Dropping from 869 to 246 was trying to hold that 139 median. (They didn't) At least the COA is only $33,150 annually.

The notion of becomming a lawyer in Washington DC has long been a trap. Something like 1 in 12 DC residents is a lawyer.ImNoScar wrote:FTFYJCougar wrote:GeorgetownMonochromatic Oeuvre wrote:School A: 3.57/3.75/3.88, 164/168/169, 34.2% Biglaw+FedClerk

Exactly. Its not like getting to TJSL or Cooley is a grand achievement.jingosaur wrote:The average LSAC score for Puerto Rican test takers is around a 136 (not a joke), but I'm pretty sure that the PR law schools are used similarly to how people use Caribbean medical schools, which is so much more sad than the medical school people's decision since getting into a low-end US law school is really easy.MarkinKansasCity wrote:http://www.lstscorereports.com/?school=interamericanjingosaur wrote:Yeah, nothing is coming from the TTTTs. There is more than one "I go to Cooley" video on Youtube where the Cooley student spends at least half of the video talking about how the weather isn't that bad.haus wrote:At least the weather is likely better in PR than MI.

It's official. UMinn wins the Median Gamer of the Year award, but WashU gets an Honorable Mention with those numbers.Dolphine wrote:WashU's class profile from a Law fair (i think)

It's actually the same spread for gpa and lsat as UPenn, which should really be #1 in median gaming. And UMN should be receiving the qualified Median Gamer Fail award... same 75th as WUSTL, but 2 pt lower median.jingosaur wrote:It's official. If I understand it correctly, minority isn't the same as URM. I think they get that percentage based on students self-identifying themselves as a minority. So, a Jewish student could identify themselves as a minority, but they aren't a URM.longlivetheking wrote:is a 23% urm pop. high?

Yeah there really aren't many URMs in our class...there's a fair amount of non-URM minorities (e.g. Asians)Winston1984 wrote:If I understand it correctly, minority isn't the same as URM. More or less it's when you build your class around medians, rather than individuals.Dr.Zer0 wrote:What does it mean to be median gaming?
Edit: And go out of your way to save your medians. Like offering large scholarships to everyone over your median GPA/LSAT

Just to add to this, all top schools inevitably focus on their medians, but some do so by only admitting students of a certain total caliber - this is evidenced by schools with narrow 25-75 distributions, like a 3 or 4 pt and .2-.3 gpa spread;Travis12 wrote:More or less it's when you build your class around medians, rather than individuals.Dr.Zer0 wrote:What does it mean to be median gaming?

others "game the median" and admit students with a very wide range of academic caliber but who satisfy only one of the two medians: here you will see extremely wide ranges of 6 to 8 LSAT pts (think Penn, 164-171, or WUStL 160-167), and .5 - .7 gpa. These schools are not admitting quite as "wholesome" candidates, but rather they are targeting half the class to be in one position and half in another.
These distinctions are not significant and all telling, and for almost any school the "at or above one median" is common sense. Still, a 164/3.9 stands a stronger chance at Penn than NYU, where as a 169/3.65 is more likely in at NYU than Penn.

I guess one of the two pie wedges we can't see the label for is engineering? Seems like a lot of them for a law school (either ~10% or ~20%, depending on which wedge).jselson wrote:As a former English major, I'm deeply offended that they included us with Communications.Dolphine wrote:WashU's class profile from a Law fair (i think)
