Does this mean they're not trying to game their medians like Chicago? But even so, I assumed that given they quality of their applicant pool, they would naturally just have a higher GPA median.

I'm not complaining but i've always been curious as to why this is the case.
1. They're not gaming their GPA medians, whereas most of the schools below them are (UChi is too).
2. They're relatively splitter-friendly in the first place.
3. They're a good deal bigger than most schools below them.

CLS has historically been very strict about essentially requiring non-URMs to have a 170. They ding all sorts of those 3.95/168 types that UChi and MVP have been glad to gobble up.
This is all true, although Im sure some degree of median gaming exists nonetheless. Also, seems like CLS at least is more forgiving of a 3.6 at a peer undergrad than a 3.75 at another less renowned school. Not sure why or how this is, but it shows in the class.

This is a great thread. I followed the December LSAT thread and it was painful to read. There is some real insight on this one. Earlier in the thread, someone discussed the fact that HYS are the only schools that open certain doors to political careers. I was wondering what that user meant by that statement.
Obviously, going to one of those 3 schools will open doors. But is there any data that supports the statement that HYS offer opportunities that other T14 schools don't? When I first read that, I immediately thought of Joe Biden's dismal academic career (it's almost hilarious, if it wasn't quasi-shameful, that a moron like Biden is VP).

Sometimes it takes 2-3 requests in the mod thread to get stickied.

The medians are a lot lower than my cycle. For example, the median LSAT at NYU when I was applying was 172.

Everyone is apparently dumber at the T14 than a few years ago.

Perhaps everyone is tacitly smarter at the T14 than a few years ago.

Indeed, haven't current students opted for the law school path at a time when scholarship money is more easily obtainable (both in terms of academic performance requirements and breadth of competition) and when the profession is ever-so-slightly rebounding?

In whichever case, T14 students remain generally the same as they ever were -- objectively dumb and willfully ignorant. :D
