Writing an addendum on LSAT score jump

Postby bisanch » Mon Jul 08, 2013 11:18 pm

Hi, I jumped from a 155 to a 165 and I was wondering if that's significant enough to write an addendum on. If so, what would help make the addendum effective?

Don't write one. Schools will only care about your 165. Don't bring attention to the 155.

I'm in a similar situation, with conflicting advice.

1. TLS says don't write one
2. Montauk's book with quotes from deans gives the message that people should write one.

So I'm not sure what is the correct thing to do.

Is there a number that would require/be benefitted by an addendum?

20 points? 30?

Similar situation, although some schools I'm applying to specifically say "If your score has gone up by 5 points or more explain it in an addendum". Not sure what to say.

I went from a 152->166->177. Didn't write an addendum. I can't imagine it hurt me not writing writing one, although I also can't imagine it would've hurt me had I wrote one.

Amazing job. This is a perfect example of why the collective wisdom always encourages retakes.

What changes did you make in your study plan to get to 177?

This interests me as well. Schools I'd be considering state you should write an addendum but I'd love to hear advice on writing a "I studied more" or "I didn't freak out on a LG" vs. "My mom and my dog we're eaten by our other dog the night before" or "I got mono from licking a subway seat on a dare"
