Do Deans care about 25/75 or just median?

USNEWS only uses the medians for their formula.

Do deans care about boosting/holding 25th and 75th percentiles? If so, why.

I am sure they care in terms of keeping their median high...

I always looked at it as if someone is 75th on one stat then admissions will make damn sure 25th is the other stat.

They don't care as much as they care about maintaining medians, obviously, but they still have plenty of reason to care: this is still public information that drives perception of which schools are more elite/selective/desirable than others.
