W&L. Although it was less a fee waiver and more "hey, fyi, we decided to make this free for everybody". This may have something to do with the fact that they appeared to have their LLM application up for the last four days rather than the JD app. Whoops.

I tried soliciting/emailing both Emory and Indiana last week... so far no response. What is usually the next step if I definitely don't want to pay to apply?

Can you get your $ back if you submit an app and get a fee waiver after? Wondering for CCNP specifically.

Chicago: "Please do not pay the application fee. We will not be able to issue refunds to applicants who pay the fee."Humbert Humbert wrote:Can you get your $ back if you submit an app and get a fee waiver after? Wondering for CCNP specifically.

This information should be readily available on all the school's pages. I expect none of them will give refunds.

My fee waiver progress:
Columbia: Nope. (Take it I'm not alone?)
NYU: Nope.
Michigan: Yes.
Duke: Yes (unsolicited, applied last cycle and told them I was reapplying when I withdrew my app).
Northwestern: Erm, free for everybody?
Cornell: Nope.. (Is this weird? Are they not giving out fee waivers?)
Georgetown: Yes.
Still need to request UPenn, UVA, and UChicago. I'm guessing I'll get the UVA one, but how's it looking for UChicago and UPenn out there? Anyone successful?

Cornell were kinda punkish this year: They gave out fee waivers to a group (A) in an email, they gave out that same email without a fee waiver to another group (my group, B), and they left the rest cold and dry. There didn't seem to be an objective method behind it either, lots of people with good numbers missed out.
Can't speak for penn and u chicago yet, but UVA was extremely fast in giving people fee waiver codes..like 4 minute reply at lunch time fast.

I am excited to watch your cycle. After that retake score you earned you're going to clean house.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:My fee waiver progress:

Chicago does not process individual merit based waiver requests per their website (and that is also what they told me when I tried to solicit a waiver).

Thanks for the info, guys.
Unfortunately, splitter + C&F issues (galore!) + withdrawals (bonanza!) = who knows.

I think you will do well. Didn't you get some pretty decent acceptances last cycle? That 175(right?) is going to go a long way this cycle I think!TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Thanks for the info, guys.

are you on lsn? i am also a (suuuper) splitter with my share of c&f issues, and a couple points behind you on lsat. that 175 is beautiful haha, i'd love to see how your cycle goes as well.... best of luck!TheMostDangerousLG wrote:Thanks for the info, guys.

I wish there were some sort of C&F filter on LSN. I can't imagine there would be very many data points though

I would actually imagine that a fair number of applicants apply with C&F disclosures. In my opinion, the difficulty would be in making it useful. How do you differentiate on the filter between someone disclosing that they were arrested for embezzling money, someone who was caught with weed, and someone convicted of assault? What if someone had one disclosure or 5 disclosures? I think the variability within C&F is what would make it tought-14orbust wrote:I wish there were some sort of C&F filter on LSN. I agree. I was thinking maybe create a scale of low/medium/high C&F options based on type, number, and age of the incidents, but it would still be fairly difficult.mojangles wrote:I would actually imagine that a fair number of applicants apply with C&F disclosures. edit: I really just want to know who got into HYS with C&F, so I can ask them what their disclosures were. Guess I'll just have to submit and wait

I solicited Emory for a fee waiver late last night and got a response this morning saying:
"Use code: XXXX..."
And that was it...seemed a bit curt. Oh well, got what I was looking for - add Emory to my application list!

factoring in 25 dollars per app for the lsac report fee on top, im thinking it's gonna be quite more expensive than that for me barring awesome fee waivers from CCN.itachiuchiha wrote:so how much are y'all estimating to spend in total on apps this cycle?

7 schools I have fee waivers from, and will use.
6 schools I don't have waivers from (yet), and will apply regardless.
7 schools I don't have waivers from (yet), and may or may not apply to.
I don't want to add that $ up.
