Re: 2013-2014 Fee Waivers Rolling In
I got Michigan via snail mail as well today. I think that's the last of T14 for me. I'm only missing HYS (obviously), Chicago, Berkeley, and GULC (wasn't planning on applying to GULC anyway). I'm pretty sure I've read that Berkeley doesn't do merit-based waivers so I assume that is one I will just have to pay for. My GPA is also on the low end for Chicago so unless someone else with a LSAT above their 75th but GPA a hair below their 25th has gotten one then I am not holding out hope.
I'm glad I have all them in now as my apps should be going in by this weekend but it also makes checking my email in the morning less exciting.

I'm guessing Berkeley doesn't do merit?
(It's probably more likely I am just not meritorious)

i know it's been discussed further back, but i'm full of lazy today: how soon after the december scores were released were people getting waivers last year? i think i recall people saying it was a matter of days. are there any schools that do not give waivers at that point?

I finally got Michigan snail mail, completing the T14 merit-waiver nonafecta. I don't think M would ever really work out for me but Dean Zearfoss' handwritten note on the letter was a nice touch and made me feel nice things toward them.
Also, did anyone else get the Cornell general information booklet in the mail? That book's cover design is some sexy, sexy work. Oof.

So true. The inlaid logo was a great touch, and the feel of the cover was wonderful and grainy. That is how I'm planning on picking a school: whoever has the nicest view book.malleus discentium wrote:I finally got Michigan snail mail, completing the T14 merit-waiver nonafecta. So I discovered I had a hidden NYU waiver. Anyone else have the same? It was definitely a nice surprise when I went to submit.

Has anybody had luck soliciting a UChi, Vandy or Cornell waiver?

Don't think anyone's been able to solicit Cornell...or at least from the people that have tried, they get the response about CRS waivers.jaesonko wrote:Have one as well!melodygreenleaf wrote:Just checked and I got one too. I'm still hoping they send out another wave of emails...but sigh it's getting close to December.

My experience with Cornell: I solicited one, was given the CRS response, but discovered that I had a hidden waiver after checking the same day. They had probably waived it before I solicited, so you may want to check for a hidden Cornell waiver.Bajam wrote:Don't think anyone's been able to solicit Cornell...or at least from the people that have tried, they get the response about CRS waivers.jaesonko wrote:Have one as well!melodygreenleaf wrote:Just checked and I got one too. Vandy gave me an unsolicited waiver, but my guess is that they would be responsive to an inquiry for one.
As far as UChi goes, I have no idea whether they give out solicited ones. It wouldn't hurt to try though.

You think if I email asking for a merit one and they reject me with the spiel of CRS blah blah...maybe they will give me a hidden one? One can dream right? 80 dollars...damn.

St Louis with a couple 'full tuition' mentions in the email. For a minute I thought it was an email from WUSTL and I was all like but then I realized what it was and was all like

I hate how John Marshall-Chi will always omit its school name from the subject line of e-mails and make sure to include the words "Chicago" and "Law".jk148706 wrote:St Louis with a couple 'full tuition' mentions in the email.
