I tried soliciting Columbia for a merit-based a few weeks back. They very passively shot me down with a "if your numbers show the right amount of promise, we will be in touch about it". Very sad day. Additionally Boston College shot me down hardcore, and I even tried to personalize the note and talk about what I had researched related to BC.t-14orbust wrote:Anyone try to solicit from Columbia or Chicago? Also has anyone seen their need-based waiver forms? What kind of stuff do they ask for? If its a simple filling out of information ill try it but I'd rather not have to take the time to send tax returns.

In happier news here is my list of unsolicited fee waivers to "good" schools (Yes some of these could be argued). If you have similar numbers feel confident asking them for a fee waiver!

Nope. Got a fee waiver a month ago via email that also mentioned they would be sending something along via snail mail. I was expecting a brochure like UPenn, UMich, and Duke.californiauser wrote:Did you apply?Dr.Zer0 wrote:Measly pamphlet from Columbia

I'm a near-perfect LSAT and GPA and just submitted a request from Columbia. Will let people know how it goes.SonlenNightfall wrote:I tried soliciting Columbia for a merit-based a few weeks back. I have also received waivers from Penn, Duke, Cornell - Duke's waiver was most intriguing, as it included a "priority track" option to get an admissions decision within 10 days of applying. I almost applied right then and there.

Welcome to the party, and good luck with CLS. Regarding Duke PT, see page 14 of this threadInstinctive wrote: I'm a near-perfect LSAT and GPA and just submitted a request from Columbia. Will let people know how it goes.

That's strange about BC because a lot of the schools that have given you fee waivers are ranked higher. Also, I got a Columbia fee waiver and both of my numbers are lower than yours...also very weird. I will never understand how all of this works.

I've never even heard of Savannah Law School... I'm guessing it's a TTTTTT. But seriously TTT's stop giving me fee waivers!Savannah Law School is a boutique law school where small classes and expert faculty foster great lawyers. With an 8 to 1 student to faculty ratio, our collaborative community is a renaissance in legal education where you receive the personalized experience needed to succeed.

It's owned by John Marshall, which is the first of several very bad signs.lemons wrote:I've never even heard of Savannah Law School... I'm guessing it's a TTTTTT. I love how they write you these emails full of info, but without telling you where they are.

Check after you've completed your application. I have a hidden fee waiver from them, but never got an email or anything about it.Fiero85 wrote:UMN is being such a tightwad about fee waivers this cycle. Not a good look Minny.AT9 wrote:MSU (two in one day!)
