I agree that UVA would be a more prudent first ED (though don't count on it working, they have a historical soft floor of like 2.95, and the only sub 3.0 admit on LSN this year is hispanic (not counting the 2.2 white guy who says he got in, there's no way that's true))Regulus wrote:With a 173/2.7 and the vet boost, I'd ED to UVA or NU instead of Michigan if you were absolutely set on ED'ing somewhere... Michigan has been getting owned when it comes to employment outcomes in the past few years.
OP really wasn't asking for advice on where to ED. UVA's soft floor is more like a 3.3, their hard floor is really a 3.0. However if they were going to make an exception, OP would be the guy, 10 years out from undergrad + military + non-trad.2014 wrote:I agree that UVA would be a more prudent first ED (though don't count on it working, they have a historical soft floor of like 2.95, and the only sub 3.0 admit on LSN this year is hispanic (not counting the 2.2 white guy who says he got in, there's no way that's true))Regulus wrote:With a 173/2.7 and the vet boost, I'd ED to UVA or NU instead of Michigan if you were absolutely set on ED'ing somewhere... NU is a waste of an ED though if they keep up their ED being tied to scholarship money. They aren't opening up the wallets for a 2.7. The GI Bill support would be better at Mich too I'm guessing, and if so would probably make up for the marginally worse employment odds.
