I was just coming here to post this email, they got me too.

Hello (scruffy),

I am writing to let you know that our Fall scholarship budget has increased. Based on your (laughable) LSAT and (even wose) undergrad GPA, I can now offer you a scholarship of $30,000 per year for the full-time program.

Our Fall scholarship budget doesn't increase very often and I wanted to give you the opportunity to be eligible for the new amount. We are still accepting applications for Fall 2013. To apply to Phoenix School of Law, you may submit the application for the Fall 2013 J.D. term through LSAC's website. The application fee is currently waived and we look forward to receiving your application.

If you have any question regarding the potential scholarship, the application process or about Phoenix School of Law, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes,

Jillian

Thanks for getting my hopes up Jill

Phoenix will still be accepting applications in September. Can't wait until somebody rolls out the Late Start Program in an effort to snatch up some October LSAT takers, too.

Phoenix starts classes in both August and January I believe, so I would guess it's already a thing.

Near gave me a heart attack

I knew I could count on others to share this experience. I thought, "wow ANOTHER increase unsolicited?? What did I do to deserve this love??" I want to spam Pheonix's inbox for this asshole move.

I wonder if that email subject was a clever way to get back at us for calling for-profit TTTTs out on their bullshit.

I remember following enrollment news over a year ago, and couldn't believe when Phoenix and Charlotte increased their already-absurd class size despite substantial drops most everywhere else. Of course they were able to do this by lowering their standards -- all three Infilaw schools have LSAT medians in the 140s, and sadly there are 16 other schools with that stat.

How low will they go this year??

If you apply through the LSAC website, you do not need to submit payment or send the supplemental letter. When you reach the payment section of the application through LSAC.org, it will indicate that your application fee has been waived. If you apply by mail, print this email and include it with your application. However you choose to apply, after we receive your completed application, we’ll send you the iTunes codes. (If you apply through LSAC, your application is considered complete once we receive a printed copy of your application and supporting material from LSAC.)

Submission of an application does not guarantee admission. Offers of admission are determined by the faculty Admissions Committee.

No purchase is necessary. Offer is valid only as long as supplies last. Supplies of iTunes are limited and will be distributed on a first-applied/first-served basis. Any applicant with this offer who applies after all iTunes have been distributed still will receive the application fee waiver and full consideration by the Admissions Committee. The iTunes downloads do not have an expiration date. The value of the downloads on iTunes is approximately $25.00.

Lol, a giftcard just for applying!

When did tarring and feathering fall out of fashion, this seems like an entirely appropriate time to bring it back into style.

kappycaft1 wrote:Even if the school waives their application fee, isn't there still the $20 LSAC report fee for applying to any school? If so, this would mean that you're actually just paying $20 for a $25 product and having to take the time to fill out all the crap on their application. I'd personally just wait until the iTunes cards go on a 10%-off sale at Target again and buy it then; I'd rather pay the couple of extra bucks than have to fill out another law school application.

can't you get the application fee waived by LSAC?
edit: the $20 fee i mean.

I'm sure with a need based waiver they'd waive it. I'm talking about "hi can I have a fee waiver" stuff. Admittedly I don't recall what I paid,I thought it was 18

Yes, you can. And isn't it $21?

Hahaha those threads were pretty funny. Thanks for the link, Nova! I was amused to discover that Phoenix Law has startled students of past classes as well with sudden emails about upping their scholarships even though they never applied.

seriously though, I want to talk to some people who actually accepted their offer
