Law admission advice USD/Hastings/UC Davis /USC

Post by LawHelpPlease08 » Tue Apr 30, 2013 3:45 pm

Hey guys I really would love to hear your advice on what to do...

I got accepted to UC Hastings, UC Davis and USD.... Wait-listed at USC

I almost got a full ride to USD (75%) and wanted to know what anyone thinks I should do. I did not get any money from any of the other schools listed. I am from the Bay Area, do not mind any of the locations and would most likely leave the other schools for USC if I in.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Retake and reapply. I wouldn't go to USD if they gave me a full ride. Hastings and Davis at sticker is insane. I also wouldn't go to USC for sticker which is what you're looking at off the waitlist.

Ha..so where would you go?...and for what sticker price. The schools ranked better than USC are all really cheap..

If you're asking where my personal minimum would be, probably lower Top14 with a half to full scholarship. But the options you have right now are terrible. So hypotheticals are kind of pointless. Just retake the LSAT

Op. it is certifiably insane to go to Davis or Hastings at sticker. Sorry, there's just no other way of putting it. It's a bad, bad idea.
As Mal has already pointed out, USD is also just a terrible school and even if it were free the opportunity costs of not going far outweigh going. With any level of debt (and COL alone will be 60k+) it's also not a real option.

Study from now until October and retake the LSAT. Use the prep forum on this site as a guide, it will help you tremendously. Then come back a year later and tell your success story :)

Eta: I also would not go to USC at sticker. Focus on retaking.
