Waitlist Question: Sending an Additional LOR

When I send an additional letter of recommendation to a school via LSAC, is it encouraged to send an email regarding the letter I submitted? The email would just give them a "heads up" regarding the letter they are to receive. I am afraid of the letter getting overlooked.

Also, I sent 3 LORs for most schools which exceed the max number allowed when I first applied. I guess now I send these as evaluations on LSAC?
