Looking at all the recent numbers, Penn probably has a slight placement advantage, and seems to do very well on the east coast. I'd pick that at equal cost. Turning down a Darrow for Penn seems insane to me, but everyone's different.

Just for the record, I said it would take a Darrow to convince me otherwise (as in I would only choose Michigan over Penn if a Darrow was involved, and that's about it).

OP, the most valuable advice (and most annoying) I ever got from TLS was to retake. I know how annoying it can be to hear this constantly, and that most people believe they simply can't take it again for one reason or another, but the truth is you can take it again, it is a learnable test, and just a few points can do wonders.

You are wasting that GPA and compromising your future. If I had a 3.8+ GPA, I would have retaken the LSAT again and again until I was HYS worthy (173+ for a non-URM like me). Unfortunately, my GPA, while not terrible, all but precludes this possibility unless I got a 177-180, which ain't happening. Law school isn't going anywhere, nor are applications going to increase significantly anytime soon.

EDIT: And if you won't take this advice, at equal price, Penn by a longshot.

Just curious. 178-180 is within my reach, but my understanding is that I will not be YHS worthy no matter what with my 3.5ish GPA. My first LSAT is 175( I bombed it) and I already get $$$ from Minnesota and I expect get offer from low T14s. Should I retake and wait a year? (yes I would do anything for YHS if I have a 50% possibility with 180) Is a transfer after my 1L more reasonable?
