Georgia State
I have a 166 LSAT and a 3.9 GPA and I was waitlisted at Georgia State. I was accepted to UCLA, UGA, and a bunch of other schools but this is making me nervous. Should I be worried about the other schools I have not heard back from yet?

Well because I live in Atlanta and I was hoping I would not have to move.

Also, you gotta retake that LSAT man. Don't waste that GPA. A few more points puts you in H/Y/S! That's huge!

That is shocking given their medians. Georgia State is one of the good guy schools though. $14K in tuition for residents, with job placement numbers that could be a lot worse.

Indeed. It's actually not that bad of a deal, so I can see why being waitlisted with OP's numbers would be such a bummer. Regardless, worrying will really get you nowhere, OP.RhymesLikeDimes wrote:That is shocking given their medians. Have you applied to Emory? Your LSAT is around their median, and your GPA above their 75th.jojobuell wrote:Well because I live in Atlanta and I was hoping I would not have to move.
If GA State is really what you want, it's LOCI time. They're probably waitlisting you to see if you really want to go there.
That all said, I have to be a typical TLSer and recommend a retake, for scholarships at these schools if nothing else.

Re: Georgia State
Nothing wrong with retaking but retaking for Emory $ is pretty pointless. Except for a few full rides (172+ IIRC) Emory $$$ is maxing out at 105k regardless of numbers, so OPs 166/3.9 would get the same $ as a 168/9/170/3.9.sabanist wrote:Have you applied to Emory? ETA: Unless, of course, you nail that 172+, in which case enjoy your Emory $$$$.

Yeah, I want your GPA as well. Fuck State! Attend UGA or Emory.

Georgia State just did you a solid. Also, I agree with what people are saying about retaking. If you crack the 170s with that GPA, you'll be looking at a PHENOMENAL cycle next time around.

Its very likely that they didnt accept you because they dont think you will attend.
