Does Georgetown negotiate scholarship?

Post by Anonymous User » Thu Jan 31, 2013 10:38 am

I know that Georgetown is well-hated on this forum, but this is my top choice for some reasons.

I am also admitted to two of the MVPs (sticker) and GWU ($$), and wonder if I can use this to negotiate money with Georgetown, which has not yet offered me anything. I am afraid that my numbers aren't that competitive: around 25% GPA and 75% LSAT. It seems that Georgetown is really stingy with money unless they offer it first. Does anyone have successfully solicited scholarship from Georgetown?

You would attend Georgetown at sticker over UVA and/or Penn at sticker?

They might be interested in a particular dual program. I think TLS leans towards thinking that these dual programs are just a flame though.

As soon as they start making dual jobs, dual degree programs might start making sense. Until then, they're just trolling the fuck out of prestige whores who are hopelessly conditioned to think that if it costs more, it must be better.

With the exception of JB/MBA -- which in this scenario would make Penn Law / Wharton the obvious choice

I say you all are close but no cigar. He wants a political career. Hence, the reason for wanting Georgetown.

i remember seeing a post from someone who tried to negotiate with gulc using gwu - they said gulc considers cornell, duke, etc as peers and not gwu and won't even entertain a gwu offer.

Any chance Georgetown negotiates with a ucla or usc scholarship offer?

Most likely none. Not peers and different markets.

I don't know if they will or not, but there's absolutely no reason not to at least try to negotiate.
