My PS (which I'm pretty happy about) is about how I immigrated to the US and became friends with undocumented immigrant students. I talk about their struggle and how if motivated me to pursue law.

In my DS, I talk about how I experienced a language barrier and an identity crisis when I immigrated here and how the cultural diversity in college helped me overcome my identity crisis and embrace diversity.


In other words, they are both about my immigration experience, and I'm not sure if it is too redundant or perhaps just unnecessary.

Do you guys have any advice?

yeah, this sounds like it should be one statement. I'd ditch the DS

Though if the OP can write two strong essays that say distinct things, it'll give them more room to get their personality on the page.

It's hard to say without reading them, but I think you could make it work. If they're both written especially well, it will also prove that you've completely overcome the language barrier.
