Diversity Statement for SLS/YLS?

Write it first -- if it's good, submit it. If it's not, don't. Diversity statements are definitely not limited to URMs, and while yours sounds maybe a little stretch-y, it may just as easily end up being awesome.

I think we still like the Brits, so you should be safe there. As long as we don't go to war with Brazil or England, you should be fine. :wink:
Seriously, I think this could be an interesting topic. One never really knows what is in the minds of SLS/YLS, so who knows if it will "help," but I don't see how it would hurt (obviously as long as it is well-written). They ask you to submit an application that tells about you as a "whole person" or whatever, and they claim to evaluate each application "holistically". All you can do (legally) is give them what they ask for.
