I Want the Truth, Do ALL Schools Not Average LSAT Retakes?

Postby scifiguy » Fri Nov 30, 2012 7:36 pm

Hi guys - Have seen different opinions here at TLS on this, so that's why I'm asking this in a post.

I know that some law schools do not average out multiple LSAT takes and will take your higher score. But are there:

a.) any that do still average them out?
b.) are any of those that do T-14?

And, lastly, even if schools do not average them out and can and do take your higher score, do they still factor in the fact that you had multiple LSAT takes when looking at your application holistically? In other words, even if they officially put your at (hypothetically) 3.5GPA/171LSAT, would they have in the back of their mind (esp. when comparing you to others with similar numbers) tha tyou were a multiple time LSAT taker and have a question mark over you at all?

OK, that's a lot, so let me just say a big thanks in advance. And the last last last t hing I was going to ask was if you had proof of any of the answers to these questions. Thanks to everyone and good luck to you all!!!

A number of schools (including within the T14) claim they average LSATs. Circumstantial evidence indicates that they do not. Either way, only the top score is used to calculate medians
