Bu and BC have the same admission's system?

Postby URMLAW » Fri Nov 30, 2012 11:26 am

I updated my password on the Boston College site to check the status of my application and when I went to the Boston University site to do the same thing it was already updated, using the same password, and with the same information. I suspected they used the same system when I got the same username from both...

Why do both of this school use the same system?

Is it for yield protection? How are they related?

They're actually the same school.

The two schools aren't related like that nor do they do it for yield protection purposes. Many schools use LSAC's tool for their status checker (which is why the username is the same for most of these schools). I find it hard to believe that the password was automatically changed (I find it more likely that your browser decided to update the memorized password for you since the link looks the same for each school) but maybe there is some cross over for the user name.

Either way, schools can't see what other schools you applied to or anything of the sort.
