Thanks, amitty. I figure if they don't e-mail me back by Friday, I'll give them a call. Cornell seems to be SUPER behind, from regular Cornell thread. Wonder if we'll even start hearing back in February...

I only decided to email them in December saying I was still interested. My LOCI will be sent 3rd week in January so they know I'm really interested even this late. That's not neurotic at all.

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Did anyone else just get a random status update? I hadn't heard anything since deferral but updated to 1/16 today.
ETA: My header and status didn't change, so when I saw the update, it felt like I was being deferred all over again.

You recently retook the lsat, right? Maybe they were updating your file. I had a random update in December even though I had not submitted a LOCI yet, nor had I retaken the lsat, etc.ph5354a wrote:Did anyone else just get a random status update? Yup, that must be it. It's a little random since the rest of my schools updated much sooner after I got my score. February 1st just seems so far way for all of us!T20hopeful89 wrote:You recently retook the lsat, right? Maybe they were updating your file. Update for me as well. This almost certainly means nothing, but let's all freak out and over-analyze this minor occurrence. I HEARD THE DEAN OF ADMISSIONS HAD A TURKEY SANDWICH FOR LUNCH TODAY, DOES THAT MEAN I'M GOING TO GET REJECTED????????

If it was really dry, I could see a rage-blackout rejection bloodbath following.moonman157 wrote:Update for me as well. Maybe we'll be out of deferral limbosooneventually?
I thought we wouldn't be hearing until March/April, but I would gladly have it happen earlier than that. I also ended up getting an update today. I'm sure it's meaningless though, since we still have no idea what updates mean....

Just wanted to jump in and express some solidarity as I'll probably be in your all's shoes next year. I'll go ahead and join you all in cursing Cornell. I hope they give all of you(and me) money to come to their school. Especially the guy with the 179. Seriously what the hell Cornell?

LOL... status updated today to 01/16, but I forgot I had already been deferred from ED to RD early on in Nov so I RESENT an additional email stating I would like to be considered for the RD admissions process starting Feb 1st. My OCD has failed me.

Did anyone who updated today also get the update back in December after being deferred?

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Hey everyone. As someone who was deferred last year, don't lose hope. I was deferred despite applying the days apps opened and being above both medians. I'm not sure why Cornell defers the people they do, but many of us last year were accepted in February or march. Also, dot lose hope on shcholarships, as they seemed unaffected by the deferral. Best of luck.

Yeah, but obsessing keeps me busy. Probably not great for my sanity though.T20hopeful89 wrote:ks2499 wrote:Did anyone who updated today also get the update back in December after being deferred?
