Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
? I was already deferred for EA. (sorry just saw that you already said that). I didn't think we were going to see any legit updates until they reviewed again in February. I also took the December LSAT so I doubt they would review again until those were in.Paraflam wrote:We have similar numbers, might be headed for the ding pileph5354a wrote:Weird me too. My date updated to today as well, though it still reads deferred to RD.Paraflam wrote:I was deferred last week and just got a status update today. Anyone else?

It might be only one person, but just wanted to say I won't be taking my acceptance unless something drastic changes, so that's one spot for the rest of you! Good luck everyone!

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Update: I wrote them a very brief e-mail expressing my continued interest in Cornell, promised them a .doc LOCI in the near future, and asked if there were any specific issues/problems they wished for me to address
They thanked me for my continued interest and said they'd put the e-mail in my file and made no comment about my application.

Don't let it get to you. It's an automated response. I'm sure they're getting hundreds of emails like yours and they can't respond to all or any of them. Just write the best LOCI you can and submit it so it gets added to your application. They'll see it when they review it again in February.ashockofpink wrote:Update: I wrote them a very brief e-mail expressing my continued interest in Cornell, promised them a .doc LOCI in the near future, and asked if there were any specific issues/problems they wished for me to address

Think it's probably just them processing locis etc and updating it so you get considered in february?

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
My status updated yesterday, as well, but I have not yet submitted any sort of LOCI. I figured that because I wrote a more detailed "why cornell" back when I applied in October, it might not actually serve any real purpose - they definitely get annoyed having to read duplicative material in a single application. I'm hoping they start to look at us again before February!

LOCI submitted today. I included a lot of emoticons and hearts. The title of my letter, per my mom's suggestion, was "Why We Belong Together".

Just submitted my LOCI. I hope my tears didn't spill onto the email. I need a drink.

I too submitted my LOCI today. Here's hoping all those 170+ers go to higher rank schools leaving Cornell groveling for us (with $$$)!

I am very tempted to apply/defer

seems 168 is the magic number this year (3.4/168)

How much does writing a LOCI help? I'm dying dying dying to get into Cornell.

Re: Deferred at Cornell (2012 EA Applicants)
Not sure, but I sent one in and received an email the next day thanking me for my continued interest and that they would add the letter to my file. I was then reminded that my application would be read again in February and that if I had any updates to please send them in before February 1st.DaRascal wrote:How much does writing a LOCI help? Obviously this means nothing, but at least I didn't get some automated message?

I sent my LOCI as an attachment via e-mail to Cornell today. Has anyone sent one recently and received a response? I figured I would get something (either automated or like dproduct) but didn't get any response...

I called them a few days later to confirm they had received my LOCI (I mailed it rather than emailed) and they very politely and helpfully confirmedT20hopeful89 wrote:I sent my LOCI as an attachment via e-mail to Cornell today. Thanks, amitty. I figure if they don't e-mail me back by Friday, I'll give them a call. Cornell seems to be SUPER behind, from regular Cornell thread. Wonder if we'll even start hearing back in February...
