I know this is a stupid question, but I am just reading up on applying.
Do you need a different L.o.R every time you apply to a school, or can you use a generic letter? how does this work?

Generic letters. Unless your recommender went to Yale and you are applying to Yale, etc.

Even then, the school-specific letter won't do much. You'd need them to be someone who can call up the Dean and put in a good word before you're really going to see a boost from an alum.Tom Joad wrote:Generic letters. Unless your recommender went to Yale and you are applying to Yale, etc.
