How long are the following supposed to be. Let me know if i have this correct

P/S - 2 pages double spaced
Resume - 1 page
Diversity Statement - 1 page double spaced
Yale 250 - 250 words
Why ___? - 1 page double spaced
LSAT Addendum - 1 paragraph


Also which t14 are the Why? essays important for. From what I understand: Penn and Michigan. Duke you can either do Why or Diversity. What is the story with UVA and am i missing any others?

Crucial to do Why UVA, they waitlist like crazy so you want to do your best to avoid that.

MVP are really the important ones, maybe Chicago if you apply here because of class size.

This all assumes you have the numbers for the schools you are applying to, your Why X isn't going to get you in if you are below medians.

Would it be advisable to write Why MVPs if you only want to use them as schools to help negotiate aid with at CCN?

It makes sense that writing a solid Why ____? statement would increase your chances at admission and aid at that school. Even if you only mean to use them as a bargaining point for CCN, you should try to give yourself the best chance at that aid, which'll perhaps carry over to your negotiations.

I just have never heard of anybody doing Why essays for HYS or CCN - is that common practice? understand it being almost necessary for MVP

The point of a Why X is to avoid yield protection or getting declined because they doubt whether you will actually attend given an acceptance. HYS gives zero shits about that since they can pretty much have their pick of the litter. There isn't evidence of CCN YPing either, but my thought would be that if any school were to give you a bump for a Why X it would be UChi because of the circle jerk of the faculty and the small class size.
