No Response on Fee Waiver Request

Postby FlowBro » Sun Nov 11, 2012 4:51 pm

Sent out fee waiver requests to T-14 and a few others November 1. Still have no response from any schools except for Vandy. Should I be concerned about this or patient?

I don't want to send them another email and appear as a pester. Advice from anyone who has successfully solicited fee waivers is greatly appreciated!

My gut says your not getting a free waiver, and that you should not re-send an email. Most reply within 48 hrs, generally 24 (not including weekends). The fact that you sent to multiple schools, one of which replied eliminates the possibility that the email didnt send correctly or what have you.

My Emory fee waiver request took about a week to get a reply, but that's the longest it took for me. I also got a CRS Emory fee waiver that same day, so I would assume there was some correlation there.

I'd hold out for CRS emails if you just got your LSAT back, otherwise, I'd just pay the fees if you can and apply. No point in risking annoying the schools (imho)

I've gotten responses back within 24 hours from all my requests.

That being said, I am 0/5. So maybe this is a good thing or maybe they just missed the email.

I would not ask again for a merit waiver. If you have genuine financial need, and have already completed the requisite forms, then you should ask again (for your ability to apply hangs in the balance).

Also, patience is certainly a virtue. I asked several schools for merit waivers; some said yes, some said we don't consider individual requests. However, within a few days, I had gotten a CRS waiver from every school I wanted one from.
