I wouldn't worry - if you have an upward trend, then yeah, you have illustrated your capability. Anyway, worry won't do you any good - relax!

Yeah it definitely won't hurt you. It doesn't seem like you wrote a sob story, and in the best case, they'll take it into consideration when viewing an increasing GPA.
