That's really strange. I received the email today and it said that the fee waiver was based only on LSAT score. My score is three points lower than yours, I can't figure out why you wouldn't have received it!sinfiery wrote:Still no Colombia fee waiver

Ugh, I tried soliciting a fee waiver from NYU and they said they only provide them through CRS. I have a 3.9/173...why didn't I get one.

Wish I knew...because I am definitely applying there. I checked for a hidden waiver from them before so my app was at 100% completed. Hope that wasn't the reason but it just seems like paranoia from my end.Kitkatt wrote:That's really strange. I received the email today and it said that the fee waiver was based only on LSAT score. All of mine are unsolicited. It doesn't matter because I'm an LSAC fee waiver recipient.

I have been doing the same thing. You think that somehow a fee waiver wouldn't show up after the application's at 100% (like a tech glitch)? I just rechecked everywhere for hidden waivers and still have none. I assume CRS has to be entirely a numbers thing, as thats all they have access to of substance through the service so I really don't understand why I haven't received any! It's making me paranoid as to why...

Also, what do you guys say in your emails to school soliciting for waivers? Since if I don't get any hidden by beginning of next week I'll definitely want to try the route. Thanks!

Any word on Chicago or Northwestern? Does Northwestern send out unsolicited fee waivers? I wasn't entirely sure.

I got one from Chicago back in September so they do send out unsolicited but I don't know if they've sent them out since Oct scores came out.Kitkatt wrote:Any word on Chicago or Northwestern?
Has anyone ever successfully solicited Columbia, NYU or Penn?
My GPA is somewhat low at 3.6 but I was hoping my 171 would maybe get me a waiver since I keep seeing people with lower scores getting them unsolicited.

Re: Post-October 2012 Fee Waivers
Replied to Columbia saying, I didn't receive a merit based fee waiver while others did so I must not be qualified, and so in lieu of these unexpected events do they offer a need based waiver outside of LSAC waiver?
Thought maybe the hint would get me a waiver...
nope. Why Columbia, why?

Re: Post-October 2012 Fee Waivers
I wrote to Minnesota, and they said they don't grant fee waivers to people who registered for the CRS after taking the LSAT (which would be me). I'm not sure about NYU, but I also thought I'd get one from them. For what it's worth, Minnesota accepted my financial appeal.anela00 wrote:Ugh, I tried soliciting a fee waiver from NYU and they said they only provide them through CRS. GW gave me a merit-based fee waiver when I e-mailed them; UNC says it's only doing need-based this year.risa wrote:I got one (but back on October 3rd) with a 3.87 LSAC GPA / 169 and 166 LSAT. I've also got 8 years of work experience but not sure if that would show up on CRS or even matter for these things.NeedADrink wrote:Can anyone tell me their numbers for the NYU waivers that have been popping up?

It's my first time on this forum (and of course now I'm up late reading obsessively). It never occurred to me to solicit merit based fee waivers but I've been holding off on submitting my apps to schools I still hoped I'd get one from (BU, UNC, GW...) I'll check for hidden fee waivers in the morning and then try email solicitations Monday. Fingers crossed!

Same here on both. BU replied "Unfortunately, we are unable to provide a merit-based fee waiver by request. We do offer select candidates merit-based fee waivers through CRS." I also emailed American and they told me they are waiving all application fees automatically until December 31st. All replied by the time I woke up here on the west coast! (I emailed last night)GatorFan305 wrote:GW gave me a merit-based fee waiver when I e-mailed them; UNC says it's only doing need-based this year.

What does it mean when they say they grant waivers through CRS. Does that just mean they look at your numbers through LSAC?risa wrote:Same here on both.
