I just realized I messed up a part on my resume

Post by rglifberg » Tue Oct 09, 2012 11:37 am

Sooo any advice on mitigating this problem would be much appreciated. So I was the Vice President of a student organization at my university. But on my resume instead of putting "V.P of "student organization" at ______, I put Vice President of _________. I just noticed this and feel like an idiot, I have already sent in a bunch of apps which are just now waiting for my October score, what's the best way to fix this without having the adcomms thinking I'm an idiot? Thanks!

friendly bump. I'm not sure whether to just leave it and let them figure it out on their own or send in a corrected version

They probably won't notice. But maybe you can send an updated resume also including something new you're doing this semester, like if you took on a new volunteer opportunity or club or something.

Sounds like a minor mistake. I made an error on my resume and was able to resolve the problem by emailing the admissions committee. Just explain the mistake and provide them with a corrected copy.
