C & F Problem

Post by anon123 » Sat Sep 01, 2012 12:26 pm

It seems like some T-14 schools who had not previously asked for anything but convictions are widening the criminal C&F issue to include everything..

My LSAT/ GPA are near perfect but unfortunately I made a stupid mistake when I was 14/15 and completed a juvenile diversion program for petty retail theft. I was with a group of people, it was out of peer pressure and I have not had any legal problems since (not even a traffic ticket). This was 5+ years ago, 9+ by the time I sit for the bar. Is this going to kill my cycle? What should I be writing in addenda to show that this was a childish mistake. I'm freaking out. Thanks!

I'm by no means an expert, but if you were 14-15 when it happened, then I doubt it's anything to freak out over. 1 or 2 years ago when you were 18-19? Yeah. But not when you were a juvenile. I don't think you have to worry about it killing your cycle.

This is not going to hurt you. Just state the facts of the case and point to the fact that you haven't done anything since then. No one cares what you did when you were 15.

The only other important thing is to make sure you don't try to make excuses about it.
