On July 21, 2012 I was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana. I was given a Conditional Discharge and upon completion of a year probation the charge will be dismissed. I make no excuses for the events that occurred on that night and have learned a lesson. I value my future as a professional and I will never place myself in a compromising position such as this again. I am incredibly remorseful for my actions, and from this situation understand the severity of consequences that stem from smoking marijuana.

The last three sentences just say "I learned my lesson" three times. Also, for some reason the "I'll never...again" seems a little insincere, like a child asking for forgiveness. Maybe there's a slightly different way to say it

I hope this was in response to using "stem" in the marijuana addendum.
OP should throw something in about budding into a more mature person.
"I now understand the possible drawbacks that stem from marijuana, and I believe I have budded, from a green, half-baked student, into a lush, full adult."
