ED Question

This may be a silly question but I plan on ED'ing at Buffalo for 2013. I believe the deadline for ED is in November so I plan on taking the October LSAT so that can be met.

My question is: Since I elected to ED.. if I mess up on the October test, will I be completely denied early from the entire process and have to re apply? Or will I just be considered later in the process thus, being able to retake in December?

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

Considering the drop in applicants I wouldn't ED to buffalo. I also wouldn't pay the sticker price. What are your numbers?
Also if you get a lower score in Octobers schools will not care. At all.

Buffalo is my top school so I figured it wouldn't hurt to ED since I'd take it over any others.
GPA: 3.15 Finance
LSACGPA: 3.08
Graduate GPA: 3.1 MBA
LSAT: 155

Numbers aside, I started a non profit in undergrad and have what I like to think as a compelling PS.

What are you practice testing at now? Just as a caution, if you ED you will forgo a chance at scholarship money. At a school in this range, you should certainly be wary of paying full price.

Scoring around the same numbers right now. Hoping to pull up to a 160 by test day.

I actually didn't know ED eliminates chances of scholarships, and I'm hoping im competitive enough to get some money. Although, in the end I just want to get in no matter what.

Why would you be so hell-bent on getting in somewhere that only gives you a 50/50 shot at a real legal jerb?

Don't worry, he'll be at the top 5% of his class.

In other news, never ED to a non T14/GWU school.

I'm curious: why would you give GWU the ED nod but not other similarly ranked schools (say UMN)? Thanks in advance.

I'd add BU to that list if you want to work in the Northeast because of their new (as of last year) full scholly E.D.

I've seen this website. I'm a NY state resident and given my financial situation.. the cost of UB can't be beat. 50/50 is better than some schools.. given that I graduate at least top 50%

That's not how hiring works.

I know people are giving you brusque responses, but please listen to them when they tell you not to ED Buffalo. There's a 50% chance you won't be in the top half, and even if you are, there's no guarantee that you'll get a job that pays well enough to pay off sticker debt.

Thank you so much. I'll be sure not to ED.

To be fair, he said he was going to in his OP. I just couldn't let this thread go to completion without a single 'retake' response.

Also if you are stuck at 160 check out some of the LSAT study guides on this site.

Thanks, I'm actually supplementing one of them now, can't remember what it is called. I'm also using some of the LSATblog study plans and questions combined with LG bible.

Judging from the trends on LSN for UB- above at 3.0 combined with a 160+ usually gets in. So anything above 160 will satisfy me.

Nah, you can do better than that. Get a better LSAT score and go to a better school or get more $$ from your local schools.

Since U of A is non binding Ed is there really a disadvantage for applying Ed?
