Technical LOR Question

Post by honeybadger12 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 9:51 pm

I'm addressing envelopes - what should I put for the return address? One stamp or two?

Your recommender's mailing address
One stamp (why two?)

Oh, I guess that makes sense. If you think your recommender might actually write that much, go ahead and put on two stamps.

I have no idea how much they're gonna write; that seems like an awful lot though

Yeah, very few recommenders write that much. I think you'll be fine with one stamp.

FWIW, My professor required 2 stamps.

He wrote me a seperate unique LOR for each school I applied too (7 total) so I sent him 7 stamps with envelope.

He sent me a very blunt and simple email 2 weeks later that said, "you owe me 7 more stamps"

I was like

He ended up writing a 4 pg LOR for me along with the LSAC LOR form so 5 pages total

Wow that's nice -- maybe I'll include additional postage but leave it off the envelope so they can add it if they need to

You'd think a professor who liked you enough to write a 4pg LOR would be willing to take a $7 hit for you...
