For someone seeking to transfer to a CCN school after 1L, what difference would there be, in terms of chance at transfer and requirements to do so, between doing that 1L year at a T15-T18 school or a T9-T11 school? I know it may only he a minor difference, but I always like getting more information when I can.

First, do not got to law school planning on transferring. It is very risky. Second, that being said, I would say that your chance of transfer from a T9-T11 is better, plus, if you do not get to transfer after your first year you are already at a good school with good job prospects.

At least wrt this cycle, schools like HYS appear to have favored top 5% at a T14 school instead of top 2% at a top 20 school.

ETA: saw that you're looking CCN - advice still holds. Going to a higher ranked school lets your rank be a bit lower for the transfer game. But yea, don't go to a school looking to transfer.

More leeway with transfers as suggested above and MUCH more safety around median.

Thank you for the responses. Pretty much what I had figured but appreciated the feedback nonetheless.
