Hey all, first time poster. I have a few years work experience in an investment fund and in the military. I have a good rapport with the president of asset management of our fund who did his undergrad at NU, and I'm positive he would give me a stellar recommendation. I was wondering if getting a rec from an undergrad alumni would still carry any weight since he didn't go to the law school?

I think him being able to discuss your abilities in a positive light will bear more weight than his alumni status.
I agree with the above. I doubt that it will matter that he is an alum so long as he can speak to your work ethic/ability to do well......
