Anything not hard. Hard = LSAT + GPA.

They're "bumping" their post to the top of the page by replying to the post. So if there was no answer to the question asked, they can get more readers. Some consider this poor message-board etiquette, while many tolerate it when there was a substantial time since the previous post.

Yep. Also, URM status is often considered a soft.

"I agree" or "Good one"
I believe this comes from Digg.com's method of ranking comments. When you Digg a comment you add 1 to its score.

+1 originally meant "This thread is worthless, I'm just upping my post count by posting here."

Now it means that you agree.

Its weird because I used back when it had that original meaning, and I still use it that way sometimes by accident.
