gpa difference worth the money

Is the difference between a 3.35 and 3.41 worth 3,000 dollars? I have the opportunity to take some summer courses that would boost my gpa, but not sure if it is worth it or not.

Depends on your financial situation and if your GPA is already where it needs to be for where you want to be. If 3.4 is your target school's median and you have money to spare, it might be worth it to put you on the right side of the median. That being said, though... probably not. It's just .06 points.

I just finished my junior year, but want to apply early in the upcoming cycle. Im not taking the LSAT till June so I won't know my score until then. I just thought even though its only .06, a 3.4X looks better than 3.3X

I vote do it. Plus take an easy full load in the fall and send an updated transcript in December.

If it is not a significant financial burden for you, it's definitely worth it, especially if you're looking at schools with 3.4 medians.

why spend the 3k when you can take online summer school classes from credited schools for 10x cheaper

I'm fairly sure most schools with 3.4 medians are bad ideas.
That being said it might help for schools with 3.4 floors, but I have no idea if schools like that exist.

I am not looking at schools with 3.4 medians. My dream school is NYU, I figured that with the jump from a 3.3 to a 3.4 I increase my chances some.

A 3.4 would be helpful, but (if you aren't URM) it's going to take a strong LSAT (172+) to get NYU.

I would say that Columbia and UChi have a floor around 3.4, as well as UT/UCLA/USC.
OP is right at the approximate floor for NYU, so it could help to get up over 3.4 if the $3000 isn't too much of a burden.
Of course, it still requires a killer LSAT. Good luck, OP!
