I have:
- sent an LOCI
- gone in for an interview
- have asked plenty of questions and have left no doubt about my interest in the school
- had a prof write a new LOR
I have been told to expect a status update in early May. Is there anything else I should/could do to set myself apart prior to that?
Would it be poor form to ask how full the class is at this point?
Have I done everything I can to get off this waitlist?

Retaking the June LSAT is probably the only other thing that could help at this point.

You've done everything you can. Don't bug them with a question about class full-ness. People double-deposit or get in off waitlists, so that's not even a good gauge of your chances.

What school?
And you've probably already done everything you can. Many times it's just a numbers thing for them anyway, but it sounds like you've done all the right things. Try to relax (it's hard). If you don't hear back again in May you can think about sending another LOCI. Just don't become annoying.
Retaking the June LSAT is risky.

It's too early for this, but if you're still on the wait list come August, you could call the dean of admissions and let them know you'd like them to keep you in mind should any seats open up even on the first day of classes. It's not too common, but its also not unheard of, for people to change their minds last minute about attending law school for one reason or another. This might end up costing you a seat / housing deposit somewhere else, but depending on how much you want the targeted school, maybe it'll be worth it.

The school is Utah. They only WL like 60-80 applicants and they told me 15-20 applicants get in off the WL most years.
