My advice would be to major in enigmatology like this IU alumnus. He then went on to the University of Virginia Law School.

Is that the Coast to Coast AM guy? If so, I am immediately withdrawing from all non-UVA schools.

Haha no it's Will Shortz the NY Times Crossword editor. He has a pretty interesting job and educational background. So OP Harvard isn't the only path to mottles and bodels.

Just read about him when I realized your image has his name in it. Easy to confuse pic of him with this guy:

Just switched over to my Bill Joel play list. Other than a gazillion ones that are really popular and everyone knows, my other under-appreciated favorites are Lullabye, You're my Home, and Downeaster Alexa although I could go on

This thread has been pretty entertaining. I completely agree with everything that has been said ITT. So, to summarize:

1. change your expectations
2. get the highest GPA possible
3. stop predicting random LSAT scores
4. in at least 2 years, start studying hard for the LSAT
5. take LSAT
6. readjust expectations again
7. come back and make a thread in the choosing law schools forum when you're deciding between Fordham and WUSTL

obviously this is an old post --but are you suggesting that because the percentile is 99.4 or whatever, you have a .6% of making it?

Stay a 5th year if you actually reach your goal of 3.85 or whatever. Just realize that going from 2.25 to 3.2 is a lot easier than going from 3.2 to 3.85.

OP, why do you want to go to Harvard Law? Is it just a prestige thing? Or do you actually know what you want to do with your JD?

I'm only asking you these questions because these are the questions you need to ask yourself before you commit to law school and a career as an attorney. It is a big life decision and I think you should make it for the right reasons, not just because you think man, if I tell someone I go to Harvard Law School they will automatically think holy fucking shit, this kid is smart. Many careers in law are tedious. If you don't like researching, writing, and networking - it might not be the right career for you.

Here is what I think you should do right now. Focus on your schoolwork. Take interesting courses. Make connections with professors. Work hard and get that GPA up. Once school is over, I would actually encourage you to get some work experience. Concentrate on beasting the LSAT then.

I hope I don't get shit for this, but I find TLS very short-sighted sometimes. Yes, it is absolutely important to set yourself up well early on. Yes, you will be in better shape if you attend a t14. But, what about after you get in? There are attorneys from Harvard I've met who crap out at firms every 2-3 years, they just can't make it. There are attorneys from Harvard I've met who are shitty solo practitioners now. Harvard Law is undoubtedly one of the top law schools in the world and many, many extremely successful people come from the institution. But no matter what school you go to, you should assess if you really want to be an attorney first. Go find alums from your school's network and talk to them. Lawyers love to talk about themselves. Figure out if law is really what you want to do with your life.

The OP should probably relax and get hammered. Try to enjoy yourself.

Yes, if we are just talking about an average LSAT taker who does the average prep that most people do. That is what the statistics imply and this guy hasn't really done anything to show that he is any different than the average LSAT taker.

Sometimes I think about all the productive things I could have done instead of reading TLS forums and then I just weep.
