TBH, this incident would be a significant deterrent from me matriculating (had I applied, and been accepted)...for reasons just like this one :roll:
This is especially bad in light of Baylors gunnerish reputation.

Not a yet a law student, but I don't see why this would be such an issue except for stalkers and phone numbers.

Reexamine this statement after meeting more law students.

This is a unique opportunity because law schools never release this kind of data. I think one of you who was sent the stats should post the information with the names redacted. Valuable information could be gleaned about how a school like Baylor gives out scholarship money. Whatever trends we see in their data would also hold true for peer schools. It would be like a very complete and unbiased version of Law School Numbers. There are ways to post the data anonymously, if not on TLS then on other sites. We may never get access to a full class of applicant acceptances again.

Although I agree with the idea of being able to dive deep in to the statiscal information/ class composition like a school like Baylor I am very interested to see how a urm boost is applied if at all and if the boost is as huge as some have thought. If such would be done I wholeheartedly agree that all the personal information be redacted. I can't help but feel bad for those students and their personal business out there. A slip like that would make me withdraw immediately unless they compensated me greatly.

Someone should definitely analyze the info- shoeshine's right, it's a huge opportunity, assuming the list is exhaustive.

But yeah, this is a huge fucking deal. I can only imagine how awkward it's going to be for this year's class.

If you care, with the info out there and all, TLS/LSN stats will be an easy place to match a name to an online personae...remove your BU stats if you do care. Obviously, this is more important to those who will be attending elsewhere...aka everyone on the list.

Yeah, +1. That's why I was asking someone to send me the list with all the personal info taken out

:lol: I would love to hear an update after first semester. Always possible your opinion stays the same, but I think that's the long-shot bet. (And this is coming from someone who really likes law school and most everyone I know. That said, law school can be a breeding ground for certain personalities--and they should be avoided as much as possible.)

I reeeeally don't like that. They didn't block out everything and someone who already knew you and maybe one piece of info about you could probably figure it out....

Did the original list have undergraduate major as well?

Fun Fact For the Day:

Baylor didn't allow dancing on campus until 1996.

Welp, there goes my plan to build a time machine so I could dance maybe naked on Baylor's campus. Sigh.

Thanks for ruining my next vacation ;_;
