Top Law Schools

Hi everyone,

I've been looking all over the internet for some sort of graph(s) or data set(s) that shows the changes in stats as a result of declining law school applications. I'd imagine that LSAT and GPA would correlate with the declining number of apps, but I'd love it if anyone here had some sort of hard information about it.

Do a search of the forums, there has been some pretty lengthy discussion on the topic.

Unfortunately, at this point, much of the discussion is purely speculative. No one can really say, for sure, what the effect has been/will be. You may have to wait another cycle or two to really fully encompass the effect that decreased numbers across the board will have on the process.

I can't publish the info from the list of the new rankings, but I looked around when they came out for an article I was writing for our blog. By and large, the numbers stayed exactly the same, throughout the rankings (or, at least the top 100). A few places slipped a point or two on the LSAT, and a few places had depressed GPA quartiles, but I was really surprised at how rigid the numbers stayed for most schools.

Excluding exceptions such as UIUC, and especially for the T14, not much has changed...

I think you'd have to check school by school. I was surprised to see UVA's 25-75 Lsat numbers drop over the last 3 years..I'd think with the frequency that I've heard the phrase "ED UVA" thrown around here they would have become more selective.
