How long do LOR's last?
If I do another cycle of applications next year, can I use my LOR's from this cycle?

Yes. Mine were written in 2010.

Very good. So LOR's just stay on the LSAC account? And then you can re-assign them in future years?
It would be pretty embarrassing to have to ask recommenders to resend.

I was wondering this as well. How much do you guys think schools would look down on that though? Especially if applying to the same school two years in a row. I have a great recommendation from an employer and like to use it again but am weary using the same recommendation twice at the same school...

I used a reco from 2007 and I haven't been questioned on it. Granted I've been out of school for some time but it shouldn't make a difference.
Edit: I think LSAC/CAS only keeps them on file for 5 years.

Re: How long do LOR's last?
I applied 2 years ago and am applying again this cycle.
I submitted two LORs that were the same ones I used the previous cycle and one LOR from my current employer.
I had one school (out of 10) that told me that they wanted me to submit 3 new LORs since I had already used those LORs when I applied to the school 2 years ago.
So I guess it does matter to some schools.
