Just found out that one could possibly "switch" to ED from regular admission at UVA, and I was seriously thinking about emailing UVA to switch.
At this point I have a few offers from top 30 schools, with scholarships as high as 20k...no full rides though.
Hypothetically, if I get super lucky and get into UVA without any $$$, is this a better option than going to top 30 with half the debt? (My parents will cover part of the expenses, about 15k per year)
Any suggestion is appreciated

If you have a family who is willing to foot the bill, why not? Switch it!

I mean my family is only going to pay some of the bill(15-20k per year). UVA's tuition is over 47k, and there is living expenses... I will still be in deep debt after I graduate, probably about 120k-150k.lovejopd wrote:If you have a family who is willing to foot the bill, why not? Switch it!
With the top 30 schools I will owe 60-80k.

So your parents are going to fork over $20K/year for a school with basically the lowest cost of living in the T14? Sounds like a no brainer to me. Tons of people choose UVA @ sticker (no outside help) over t-20's every cycle. Your basically getting a 40% ridelovejopd wrote:If you have a family who is willing to foot the bill, why not? Not even a question. UVA. Your career prospects coming out of UVA compared to any top 30 will simply be a different world
