URGENT Resume help

while in undergrad i was invited to join a business school honor fraternity based on my grades and school involvement...i decided to actually join because the fees were high

can i put this on my application resume under awards and acheivements since i was invited to join???

You *can* do it, but it will not look good.

ETA: Unless you mean put membership in a club of which you were not a member on your resume, in which case your are blatantly lying.

no i mean i was actually invited and everything and even went through some of the inintial stages of membership it was just the fees and dues were more than i could afford

No. "Being invited" and "being a member" are totally different things, and placing it on your resume to make it seem like you were a member is misleading. Even if you made it explicit (ex: Invited to join...), it doesn't do you any good.

Use your limited resume space for something more meaningful.

Either way it won't make a difference. Just don't lie on an app.

Just say, "Invited to join X Honor society" under awards. That way it's clear that you aren't a member, but had the qualifications to join.
