Slightly different transcript update ? Forum

I recently got my fall semester grades back and my GPA went substantially up. My transcript should be updating soon through LSAC.

Should I email schools and tell them my new GPA and that they should be expecting my LSAC report soon? I was going to wait for the LSAC report to get to them but the dean of a school I was recently accepted to was surprised that I didn't let them know as soon as I knew my improved GPA.
