Mtal, You have to understand this board is basically a sounding board for the law schools. Its just one more marketing tool for them....as if they needed that. That isn't the point, MTal. The point is that there are rules for those particular threads. You should respect those rules. If you disagree with them, fine, but start another discussion about your disagreement and reasons which you feel justifies changing the rule. I don't know the reason for that particular rule, but if I had to guess, it's most likely to keep those threads on topic and not a thread in which others crap on that particular school. There are other areas of this forum where school crapping can be done.

To use the truck/Prius example above, think of it this way: If you, as a Prius fanatic, wanted to "convert" others, would you go attend every off-roading and truck, jeep, and other kind of large vehicle owners' meeting and try to give speeches about how they're all supposedly destroying the environment and should drive Prii instead? No. You'd quickly be asked to leave. There are other places for that kind of debate. Does that make sense?

Well the info on UIUC that I've read was pretty surprising. This is mainly stuff we already knew/suspected. I guess that's the difference. I mean any dirt on a T1 school is kind of viewed differently than schools outside of that range.
